Dr. Reid grew up on an acreage in Hazleton, Iowa with a wide variety of animals. Time spent with her personal animals growing up led to her desire to be a Veterinarian at an early age. Shelly attended Wartburg as an undergraduate and graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1988. Since vet school she has worked at several mixed animal practices and loves the fact that she sees a variety of patients on a daily basis. She currently resides in rural Independence, Iowa with her Great Pyrenees, Annie; Miniature Donkey, Junior; and cats, Feathers, Pippy, Scrappy, Bebe, Bopper & Mischief. In Shelly's spare time she enjoys doing anything outside.
Jeanne Tonn
Veterinary Assistant
Jeanne grew up on an farm in rural Independence. Jeanne & her husband Le have been milking cows for over 40 years. She has 3 children; Christy (Brett), Sara (Curtis) & Ryan & 3 grandchildren. Jeanne has a wide variety of animals on her farm including cows,  ponies, sheep, donkeys, dogs &  multiple farm cats. Jeanne enjoys spending time watching her grand kids grow. 
Megan Sherrets
 Professional Pet Stylist, Veterinary Assistant & EIA Technician
Megan currently resides in Independence, Iowa. She lives with her two sons and a daughter ; Talan, Kamden, and Maddyn. From a young age she had a love of animals which drove her into the veterinary profession. Megan became a staff member in 2007 and began grooming for the clinic in 2009. She enjoys spending time with her two Pugs, a French Mastiff & an English Bulldog, along with kayaking, boating & attending a variety of her children's sporting events. 
​Ashley Sparks
Veterinary Assisitant
Ashley enjoys spending time with her chickens and dogs when she's not working in the clinic. In her spare time, she and her significant other and daughter love being outdoors camping and kayaking.
​Sam Garrison
Veterinary Assistant
​Sam grew up in Iowa; and now resides in Buchanan County. While working at the Clinic; Sam is also in school. She keeps busy with school, family and working, but when she has time she likes to go on nature walks with her family and her dog; enjoys watching Netflix with her cats, Max, Bear & Montana and the family. 
Tessa Nelson
Veterinary Assistant
Tessa is one of our chicken girls. (The above photo is Shelly's reaction when somebody wants to bring in a chicken.) Seriously though, Tessa lives in Oelwein and just graduated from NICC with a degree in dairy science. She loves working with animals and spends her free time reading and kayaking.
